Upcoming Missions
Teachers or administrators interested in a mission, planning a mission, or returning for mission can attend one of our Mission Workshops. The mission workshop will to maximize the benefits of the mission experience. The free workshop is located at our center in Bangor, lunch is included and 6 CEU contact hours are provided for attending. Workshop activities are multi-disciplinary and address a variety of learning styles. They are designed to foster teamwork, communication, decision-making, and problem solving skills - all hallmarks of the Challenger Learning Center mission simulations. Your students will greatly benefit from your participation in a Mission Workshop... giving them the best possible experience when you come to fly at Challenger!
Attending teachers will also have access to our NASA Educator Resource Center along with additional materials to enhance your STEM activities back in the classroom. NEW MISSION TEACHERS are required to attend the mission workshop RETURNING TEACHERS may attend workshops that are offered throughout the year. Guest speaker presentations, mission updates and supplementary materials are among the items provided to returning teachers. (Exploration Lab Mission does not require a mission workshop) |

NASA Educator Resource Center [ERC]
The purpose of the NASA Educator Resource Center (ERC) located within the Challenger Learning Center is to help teachers learn about and use NASA's educational resources. Personnel at the ERC work with teachers to find out what they need and to share NASA's expertise. The ERC will provide educators with demonstrations of educational technologies such as NASA educational Web sites and NASA Television. The ERC provides inservice and preservice training utilizing NASA instructional products. Educators also have the opportunity to preview, copy, and receive NASA instructional products. |
