Post-Mission Resources
Below are some post mission resources available for all educators
The following is an example of an activity that can be completed post-mission or in any relevant science class. The types of jobs highlighted in the mission represent a broad range of STEM fields. This activity below highlights careers and science content relating to sustainability.
STEM Careers in Sustainability Science
Sustainability Resources for Teachers:
In 2006, the editorial board of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences created a new section of PNAS dedicated to sustainability science, which they defined as “...an emerging field of research dealing with the interactions between natural and social systems, and with how those interactions affect the challenge of sustainability: meeting the needs of present and future generations while substantially reducing poverty and conserving the planet's life support systems.”

Sustainability Classroom Activity
- Students will watch one of the episodes that best relates to your curriculum / community: click here
- Students will propose a research topic that could utilize NASA satellite data (use climate.nasa.gov for current mission examples) to help researchers on Earth. Students will design an investigation (similar to the ground truthing of culverts) that your community could use that would help with municipality future preparation, ie. possible flooding or future development.
